# [[Emojis]] #emojis | _Created: 2025-06-12_ ## Searching ### Semantic Search One of the pains of regular emoji search on Mac is knowing exactly the name of the emoji to be able to use it. For example, suppose I want to see all emojis related to _fitness_. Since that is not a substring of any emoji names, it doesn't popup any emojis in the Mac emoji picker. Nothing relevant anyway. ![[Apple emoji picker failure.png | center | 200]] ## Emoji Search Engines Here are some better alternatives that I have found. ### Emoji finder [Website](https://emojifinder.com/) Simple clean web interface to search using many keywords, . Created by [Graham Hicks](https://grahamhicks.com/). ![[emojifinder search.png | center | 400]] ### Unicode Party [Website](https://unicode.party/?) The semantic search isn't as good. E.g. I couldn't find anything for *fitness*. I had to search for *exercise* instead. However, it provides the name for the emojis. This is useful to search in other UIs, like Slack and macOS emoji pickers, which expect an exact string match to give you the emoji you want. ![[unicode party.png | center | 400]]
